In August 2012 the Graduate School launched the newly created Practice Programme, a series of workshops and events designed to connect postgraduate researchers with the world of work beyond academia.
The Practice Programme includes:
- Practice Workshops, which bring together visiting practitioners and postgraduate students to discuss aspects of professional and organizational practice. These events serve to open new areas of research and reflective inquiry, as well as to develop transferable skills.
- Work Based Placements are available to postgraduate students on the MSc programmes in International Development and Masters of Public Policy. We are also developing placement options for doctoral students.
- Continuing Professional Development courses run by the Academy of Government
- Exchange Fellowships, which provide a framework for professionals and practitioners to work with an academic counterpart on a joint project.
We are eager to continue developing innovative projects that link the Graduate School with non-academic social, corporate and political arenas and welcome further suggestions for collaboration.
