GLADS – Good Lives and Decent Societies – is one of five projects funded under the Scottish Universities Insight Institute (SUII) knowledge exchange programme on the theme of wellbeing. It is led by the School of Social and Political Science of the University of Edinburgh and the University of Strathclyde Social Work Department.

GLADS aims to bring together researchers, policy-makers and practitioners from several countries and from a range of disciplines and sectors to generate new insights into:

  • what influences individual and societal well-being, and
  • how to promote greater societal well-being by embedding it in public, private and third sector action.

Taking a multi-dimensional approach, GLADS focuses on health, place and space, and work and employment.

The project primarily consists of three knowledge exchange events taking place between February and June 2014.

GLADS is also trying to disseminate its activity and generate some debate through a number of activities, including this blog, Twitter feeds, and audio-visuals.

We look forward to hearing from you!
