The SNP’s policy, after all, is for the rest of the UK to effectively guarantee our debts through the Bank of England acting as lender of last resort. Scotland could hardly refuse to take on any of the existing debt on the one hand, yet demand the rest of the UK continues to guarantee our future borrowing on the other.
