Opinions\u00a0are sharply divided about how scientific research and Scotland\u2019s future\u00a0economic success, as it builds on technological innovation, would be\u00a0affected by \u201cdevo-max\u201d or total independence.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Would our innate creativity be unleashed, enabling us to reach new heights\u00a0of innovation-based prosperity, or would we struggle to maintain our\u00a0present position? These very important questions do not feature highly in\u00a0public debates, although they are beginning to be hotly debated among\u00a0academics, industry and government bodies in Scotland and Westminster.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Join Innogen for a discussion among leaders of Scottish science and industry, putting forward and justifying both side of the independence debate and\u00a0exploring the futures they envisage for Scotland.\u00a0Speakers include Professor Hugh Pennington and Iain Gray MSP to discuss\u00a0issues from a \u2018better together\u2019 standpoint, and Colin Macilwain and Allan\u00a0MacAskill to discuss issues from a pro-independence standpoint.
